Department of Management of Socio-Cultural Activities, Show Business and Event Management!
According to the decision of the Academic Council of the University, on 01.07.2014, the Department of Tourism Organisation and Management of Socio-Cultural Activities was established at the Faculty of Tourism of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
The creation of the department reflected the general trend of the development of the socio-cultural sphere at that time, the introduction of relevant disciplines in higher education institutions and the organisation of departments that would ensure their teaching.
The availability of qualified teachers played an important role. The new department was staffed by lecturers who had considerable scientific and pedagogical experience. The newly created Department of Tourism Organisation and Management of Socio-Cultural Activities was supported by the University Administration and the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor Volodymyr Velykochyi.
Vasyl Shykerynets, PhD in Public Administration, Associate Professor, an experienced teacher and manager, a specialist in public administration, was elected Head of the Department. He led the formation of the principles of educational, methodological, research and educational work of the department.
Since the first years of its establishment, the Department’s academic staff has actively participated in scientific and methodological conferences, published their research in professional journals and magazines on the problems of formation and development of the socio-cultural sphere of Ukraine.
In 2020, by the decision of the Academic Council, the Department of Tourism Organisation and Management of Socio-Cultural Activities was renamed the Department of Management of Socio-Cultural Activities, Show Business and Event Management.
Today, the department is headed by PhD in Public Administration Vasyl Shykerynets, with a total of 5 PhDs and 2 heads of department/
