The event was held in a mixed format.

Acting Rector Ihor Tsependa congratulated the newly elected Supervisory Board.

He emphasised that this was not just a meeting, but the beginning of a new stage in the life of Precarpathian University: “We have become part of an experiment for three universities, including ours. Today is significant because we officially represent a team of experts who strive to improve our university. We are all united by this goal, and I am confident that by working together we will give the University a new dynamic, bring it to an even higher level of development, and effectively implement all planned initiatives.’

Unity in memory, strength in struggle

On February 20, Ukraine bows its head to honor the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. On this day, we not only remember those who gave their lives for freedom but also reflect on the price of independence.

At Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the memory of the Heroes was traditionally honored near the Memorial Obelisk dedicated to students and professors who died for Ukraine. Here, in the heart of the University, the name of Roman Huryk, a 19-year-old student who went to the Maidan and became a symbol of the fight for dignity and truth, always resonates.

Today, as the struggle continues, the memory of Roman and all those who gave their lives for our freedom is not only a source of sorrow but also a guiding light. Our University has already lost 59 of its students and alumni in the war against the Russian aggressor. These are not just numbers. They are the fates of young people who believed in Ukraine’s future and gave the most precious thing they had for it.

“We must be worthy of their heroism. Ukraine lives as long as we are united. We must not only remember but also act: learn, work, support the military, help those in need. Only in this way we can achieve victory,” emphasized Ihor Tsependa.

Scientists of PNU at the V Winter School of the Innovative University

From February 8 to February 12, scientists and scholars from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University participated in the V Winter School for Advanced Training of the Innovative University. This year’s theme of the project is “The University and its Relations with the Environment.”

On February 10, Acting Rector of PNU Ihor Tsependa delivered a lecture to the school participants entitled “The University and the City: the University for the City or the City for the University.”

The V Winter School is a unique educational and research project that brings together young scientists, lecturers, and experts to discuss vital issues related to the university’s interaction with the  environment.
